Nutritional Nugget: Walnut Oil
Walnut oil may add a real power punch to your heart health. The cardio-protector comes primarily from the high concentration of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). ALA is an omega-3 fatty acid that is ultimately converted to eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). That’s a whole lot of science and fancy words, but what does it mean? Well, a recent Yale study found that daily consumption of walnuts (because of all the things above) may improve the health of blood vessels, which could decrease risk of heart disease. Other benefits could include decreased inflammation and improved skin, including help with eczema. We offer walnut oil in our market!
